The Art f Japanese Tea Ceremony
on 29 April 2012
at Esplanade Theatre
This demonstration was held as a part of the festival ‘A Tapestry of Sacred Music’ presented by Esplanade with the theme ‘The Best of the Human Spirit through the Arts’.
The demonstration was started with brief explanation about philosophy and sound that come with tea ceremony. Sound of water boiling emphasises the calmness of the place. Pouring water gives a feeling of purity. As such, every sound has its meaning and taste.
While the tea ceremony performed, the guests enjoyed Japanese confectionary and a bowl of tea.
It’s a great honour that we could help every participant to find allure of tea ceremony from an artistic point of view.
