Lacquer ware plays a key role in Chado, the Way of Tea. 16th century tea master SEN RIKYU refined the aesthetics of tea utensils contributing in technical sophistication of Japanese lacquer ware. This exhibition is first time in Singapore to showcase more than 50 important works ranging from Edo period to modern time, thanks to a private collector in Kyoto.
